DAY 1

Machame Gate to Machame Camp

Distance: ~10 km (6.2 miles) Elevation: 1,640 m (5,380 ft) to 2,835 m (9,300 ft) Highlights: Start at the Machame Gate, where you’ll register and meet your team. Trek through lush rainforest, encountering diverse flora and fauna. Arrive at Machame Camp, where you’ll enjoy dinner and rest.

DAY 2

Machame Camp to Shira Camp

Distance: ~5 km (3.1 miles) Elevation: 2,835 m to 3,750 m (12,303 ft) Highlights: Hike through the moorland, with stunning views of Kilimanjaro. Reach Shira Camp, located on the Shira Plateau, which offers beautiful vistas. Explore the plateau and enjoy a night under the stars.

DAY 3

Shira Camp to Barranco Camp

Distance: ~10 km (6.2 miles) Elevation: 3,750 m to 3,960 m (12,992 ft) Highlights: Scenic trek along the western edge of Kilimanjaro, with views of the summit. Pass through varied ecosystems, including heath and moorland. Arrive at Barranco Camp, known for its unique rock formations and stunning sunsets.

DAY 4

Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp

Distance: ~5 km (3.1 miles) Elevation: 3,960 m to 4,030 m (13,220 ft) Highlights: Climb the Barranco Wall, a fun and challenging scramble that offers breathtaking views. Enjoy a relatively short day of trekking, allowing time for acclimatization. Settle into Karanga Camp, with opportunities to relax and enjoy the surroundings..

DAY 5

Karanga Camp to Kosovo Camp

Distance: ~6 km (3.7 miles) Elevation: 4,030 m to 4,850 m (15,584 ft) Highlights: Gradual ascent towards the summit area. Enjoy scenic views of the landscape and surrounding peaks. Arrive at Kosovo Camp, which offers great views and a chance to prepare for summit day.

DAY 6

Kosovo Camp to Uhuru Peak, then to Mweka Camp

Summit Day: Start around midnight. Distance: Kosovo to Uhuru Peak is about 5-6 km (3.1-3.7 miles) up; descend to Mweka Camp is about 13 km (8 miles). Elevation: Summit at 5,895 m (19,341 ft). Highlights: Begin the ascent to Uhuru Peak under the stars, a magical experience. Reach the summit in the early morning, witnessing breathtaking sunrise views over the plains. After enjoying the summit, descend to Mweka Camp for rest and recovery.

DAY 7

Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate

Distance: ~10 km (6.2 miles) Highlights: Final descent through lush rainforest, with opportunities to see wildlife. Arrive at Mweka Gate to celebrate your successful climb and receive your certificate!
